Members of staff, special guests and students watched as Mr Stephen Capper, the
headteacher and Mrs Jane Evans, the longest continuously serving member
of staff, buried the capsule. The guests, Margaret Edwards and Laura Pethers
were
both former
students
- Margaret's schooldays beginning the day the school opened and Laura having
started in 1998. One of the most interesting contributions that was included
in the time capsule was from Ben Bennett who sent
his
report book, dated 1960-1964.
Here are Laura's memories of the school she remembers as Hedley Walter High School - Laura's memories in pdf format.
Although Bill Sparks was unable to attend the ceremony, his account of school life has also been included in the time capsule - Bill's memories in pdf format
An exact replica of the time capsule will be exhibited in Sawyers Hall College.
