INVESTORS IN PEOPLE GOLD STANDARD AWARD
Sawyers Hall College is delighted to announce that it has achieved the prestigious
Investors in People Gold Standard, following a recent inspection. Investor
in People is the nationally recognised quality mark which is awarded to
organisations that are committed to supporting the development of their
staff and resources to meet their goals.
Following a thorough and rigorous review by Investors in People in July
2010, the College was awarded the ‘Gold’ Standard, the highest possible
award from the organisation. The measures included appraisals of engagement
with employees, investments in staff training, how Sawyers Hall College
supports staff in developing their leadership capabilities and ensuring
equality of opportunity for development and support.
Sawyers Hall College is one of only a few organisations in Essex to have
achieved Gold Status, putting it in the top 10% of all 40,000 IiP accredited
organisations across the UK and one of only 44 schools in the country to
have received this level of award.
To achieve Gold Status the College had to satisfy 126 evidence requirements
over and above the 40 required for the basic standard which it has held
continuously since 1999.
The IiP assessment framework supports the College’s vision to be a leading
provider of education and training, and reinforces the drive for continual
improvement of the services that the College provides, through the investment
in and involvement of the College staff.
In the IiP Report, the College was praised for its positive and progressive
culture and for demonstrating the commitment towards inclusion, unlocking
potential and providing an opportunity for everybody within the college.
Mr Stephen Capper, Headteacher of Sawyers Hall College commented that ‘We
are very proud to have received this prestigious award which recognizes
the significant achievements of the College. We all work together to continually
raise standards and improve outcomes for students. The Gold standard is
what we always aim for and now we have got it!’
