The annual College ski trip took place this February half term to Aprica
in Italy. Twenty two students and three members of staff flew to
Italy on Saturday 9th February to enjoy six days of skiing in the
resort of Aprica. Aprica is a small resort in the Italian Dolomites
but with 50km of marked piste it provided more than a challenge for
the students on the trip.
With snow fall being plentiful this season
the group took advantage of the well groomed pistes and excellent
snow conditions. Six days of blue skies and endless sunshine enabled
the group to really get the most out of the skiing and enjoy the
stunning surroundings. The beginners in particular made excellent
progress and the resort is certainly geared up to enhancing their
experience with a number of progressively more challenging runs on
the nursery slopes. Students took part in four hours of ski lessons
a day before enjoying the luxury of being able to ski back to the
hotel door.
Each evening a full programme of entertainment
was organised
including swimming, ice skating and a Valentine’s disco. Next years
ski trip is planned for Stowe, USA. More details to follow . .
