“Do Something Funny for Money” was the slogan for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2009 and Sawyers Hall College hosted a number of great events and raised an amazing £961. Fund raising events included; staff Bush Tucker Trials, college dress-up, non-uniform, cake sales, face painting, sponsored events and many more. The money raised will go towards helping and supporting children with mental issues, caring for a parent with diseases, illnesses and conditions, severely poverty stricken families and orphaned children, the list is endless.
Teachers including Mrs Fellows, Mr Nuytten, Mr Rodea, Mr Adams and Mrs Duwai were the student’s “favourites” for the “teacher Bush Tucker Trial” which took place at break time on Friday 13th. By popular demand, Mrs Fellows went head to head with Mr Adams and although it was a close contest, Mr Adams won by a narrow margin.
