Students were seeing stars at a recent event arranged by Mrs Lebow and the science
department. The massive dome of the Astronomy Roadshow Planetarium was
inflated in the sixth form common room and once inside, the students
began a trip round the universe. The presenter, a Fellow of the Royal
Astronomical Society, used Internet images, projected computer graphics
and short DVD animations – some directly from NASA – to illustrate his
talk and he pointed out many of the familiar constellations that are
visible to us throughout the year.
