Course Introduction:
You will learn how to develop an understanding of how business
works in the real world & how business functions work as part of a whole business. You will also take
part in practical activities such as planning and running a business
and organising an event.
The course studied is designed to encourage students
to:
• Develop their key skills in the areas of Communication, Application
of number, Information Technology, Problem solving, Working with
others and improving Own Learning and Performance.
• Prepare them for the world of work. This course is highly attractive
to the employer.
• Equip students with skills they will need in further education
or training.
Entry Requirements:
To succeed in this course students will need to
have attained:
At least 5 A*- C Grades at GCSE, including Maths & English

• Marketing Decisions
• Organising an event
Two thirds of the units throughout the two years
are assessed through portfolio assignments that are marked by the
teachers. The remaining two units are externally assessed written
examinations.
