Course Introduction:
This course provides students with
A practical subject including a performance of
a play by an established playwright and a unique performance you
will devise. Develop practical, creative and communication skills,
through performance and analytical exploration. Enthusiasm, commitment
and self discipline will be essential.
The course studied is designed to encourage students
to:
• Explore & study to gain an
understanding of how plays are structured and interpreted.
• Use the experience gained in the first unit to be applied in
performance context, working as an actor or designer in a play
directed by your teacher.
• Create a unique performance created in a group context.
• Have a historical and directorial approach to theatre texts.
Students will also be encouraged to respond from a director’s point
of view and compare from different historical contexts.
