Course Introduction:
This course is designed to enable students to build on their GCSE experiences with integrated activities focusing on design and making.

Spring Term Year 12
Product Analysis (Unit 1)
Coursework (Unit 2)
Materials, Systems & Components (Unit 3)

Summer Term Year 12
Revision in preparation for exam –
Product Analysis (Unit 1)
Materials, Systems and Components (Unit 3)
Consumer Product Management (Unit 3)

Year 13
Students will carry out coursework section over 2 terms.
Materials, systems and components, consumer product management (Terms 1 and 2)

Unit 6 will be done in final term in preparation for exam.

Entry Requirements:
It is essential that students will have studied Design and Technology at GCSE and will have attained:
GSCE Grade C

AS Level (Year 12)

40% AS

Unit 3 Material, Components and Systems

A2 Level (Year 13)

Unit 4 Further study of Materials Components and Systems
