The highly skilled and dedicated members of the ICT staff are committed to raising
achievement in ICT and to ensuring that the students are equipped
with the
necessary skills for adaptable careers and lives in a technology-enabled
world
At Key Stage 3, the ICT department offers two lessons a fortnight,
in which students learn to use a variety of software, ranging from
Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Word, Excel, Access - to professional
software packages, such as Adobe Photoshop, for photo manipulation
and Macromedia Dreamweaver, for web design.
All students study ICT at Key Stage 4, completing the GCSE short
course.
The Certificate in Digital Applications (CiDA) is also offered
as an option at Key Stage 4 and gives students the opportunity
to study for a two GCSE equivalent award.
In addition to timetabled lessons, the ICT department organise
lunchtime computer clubs and after school sessions for students
who would like to improve their coursework marks.
