What are the Key Features?
BTEC First Certificate in Media is equivalent to two GCSE grades
A*-C.
How is the course taught?
Work during the course covers:
• Research for Media production (core unit)
• Video production (specialist units)
• Advertising production
Students will learn about the key concepts of Media Language, Audience,
Representation and Institution and apply these in practical situations.
How is it assessed?
100% coursework
Why study this course?
On completion of the course, further pathways include the BTEC
National Level 3 course which is equivalent to two ‘A’ levels
in sixth form.
The course also prepares students who are intending
to work in the Media Industry developing a range of media technology
skills that may also be applicable in other work situations.
