broadcast and e-media, which allows us to receive news, entertainment,
information and advertising. Media Studies enhances your enjoyment and
understanding of the media and its influential role in people’s daily lives.
You will become more aware of the ways in which media messages are presented
to us as well as discovering how the media institutions which produce and
distribute media products are trying to reach their audiences.
If you want a career in the media, producing and evaluating your own media
products will also give you a ‘hands on’ understanding of how media messages
are created and what they are trying to do.
