Course Introduction:
Physics is useful in a number of careers, but
you should discover as you go through the course, that fact is
much stranger than fiction. This should mean that you choose Physics
because it is interesting and enjoyable!
The course is designed to encourage students to:
• Develop their knowledge of Physics
• Develop an understanding of the link between theory and experiment
• Be aware how advances in Physics aids advances in technology
• Develop an understanding of the physical behaviour of materials
and how this understanding can be applied to fit materials to do
certain tasks
• Pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering,
Electronic engineering, Astronomy, Some Architectural courses and
Medical Physics including Radiology
Entry Requirements:
To succeed in this course students will need to
have attained:
GCSE Science Grade BB in the double award
Or
GCSE Grade B in Physics
A GCSE grade B or above in Mathematics is also required as students
taking AS Physics will also be required to study AS Mathematics
