Trampolining
This unit allows pupils to focus on relationships between performers and timing
in small group sequences. They have opportunities to use music
with their sequence, and to choose their own apparatus and design
a simple layout.
In gymnastics as a whole, pupils demonstrate skills and agilities
individually, in combination and in sequence, with the aim of showing
as much control and precision as possible.
Pupils will focus on developing stability when holding their own
body position and when supporting a partner, and on how to incorporate
agilities and/or vaults into their sequences.
In all gymnastic activities, pupils have to think about how to
demonstrate skills and agilities, singly, in combination and in
sequences with as much control, accuracy and precision as possible
Trampolining is taught from Year 9 upwards. We have 3 large trampolines
so lots of bouncing can take place. There is also a trampolining
club which is open to all years. This year we took part in Brentwood’s
first trampolining competition with some of our Year 7 and 8 girls
winning their individual performances.
